FINANCIAL SUPPORTER OF THE OLDS PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Greetings supporters of the Olds Elementary Playground Project:

On behalf of the Olds PTA Grounds Committee, I would like to cordially invite you to attend a short ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Phase I of the Olds Playground Improvement Project on October 12th.  School has started, and the Olds children and staff are so very excited about the significant improvements to the playground.  The green field, the running track and the fun tunnel have made the playground a much better place to run and play for all of the students and the community. We want to say THANK YOU to the many people who made this possible, which we plan to do during the Olds Fall Festival on Friday, October 12 at 7 pm.  Since you played a significant role in making this happen, we invite you to join us at the ceremony for special recognition.  The festival will be very lively, and we will take a few minutes at 7 pm to gather around the ribbon in the field, near the cafeteria in the back of the school.

Please let me know if you can join us on the 12th.  If not, please know how deeply grateful Olds is to all you have done to support this project.  And note that Phase II is coming this year, with more improvements to come!!

Thank you,

Committee Chairman

BURNED NOT BURIED

We were working with the church to help a family that only used a wood stove to heat their house during the winter. I had arranged to have some broken interior wood delivered. This got me thinking about how much “burnable” wood we send to the landfill during the entire construction process. So I started “Burned not Buried” on all new jobs. We simply have all trades place combustible material, not treated wood or plywood, in a designated area. Once a week our labors bring it back to the shop and cut into 18” pieces then bundle into manageable sizes stacks and wrap in shrink wrap. Each winter we work with a list of needy families, churches or various relief groups to distribute. A worth while cause with little effort.

CUSTOMER/VENDOR APPRECIATION DAY

Each year we host an oyster roast complete with a live band as a way to bring together our homeowners, members of the real estate community who show and sell our homes and the subcontractors and suppliers who helped build our homes to show them our gratitude.
